Posted 19 Feb 2004 by jkfAnyone else ready to see sunshine and warm weather?

For whatever reason it's wearing a little thin on me this year. Not like it's easy for me to put my skis away for the season or anything, but a little sunshine and green grass is really what I think I need soon.
Last weekend, I went down to NYC to see a friend, and tomorrow I'm heading out on another weekend trip--pretty much just trying find new experiences rather than sitting in front of a fire at home (for another weekend). Maybe I should head to the Bahamas like Warggle was smart enough to do. :)to pass the time, posted 19 Feb 2004 by pedro »

I do a lot of cooking in the winter. Tonight will be my first crack at jambalaya, and last night I baked a rum cake to go with it. (I fear that I might have used too much rum though; it smells really, really strong.)I also read more in the winter as opposed to any other season.

I escaped to colder weather. Now today in DC it topped 70, so I'm no longer pining. Though out on the W&OD there were hundreds of people. Hundreds. We went for a 2 hour walk and almost got ran over by cyclers sooo many times (not their fault, Anna kept running away from me!)Otherwise, art projects. Anna paints, I'm working on a blanket. Reading - I've finally just now read the Harry Potter books, and I'm kicking myself for not starting sooner. They're amazing. Cooking, creating new recipes and trying new spices. Just homey things. I strongly suspect that I'm a home body!

let's see. i was jobless for months out here so i definitely got cabin fever at times, but my remedies are a bit different than the rest. they more closely resemble blvdgirl's.i sit by the pool, i take walks in the neighborhood, weekends we go to venice and shop or walk around on ventura. i also do crossword puzzles and paint. television gets very little of my cabin fever-directed attention, movies have gotten some, particularly the sundance channel movies after ten p.m.
i try to make sure to laugh at people who have chosen other regions of the country in which to live.
