{bitterrant}Don't you just love it when your friends find girlfriends and then you seemingly don't exist to them? I hate to be a downer here but every single one of my friends basically does this to me. OH...but low and behold...I better be around to answer those 1:00am phone calls when the relationship goes into the toilet.{/bitterrant}

Going to a Christmas party tomorrow night which is being thrown by an old co-worker...so not all is lost. Will be meeting lots of new faces - hopefully hot chicks. Or shall we say C-H-I-X for those in the rock community.

Pinball Pete's tonight. Yes.

Recap of this year:

I absolutely love my Wal fretless bass, which I've had since February.

I was almost semi-famous. I'd be at least recognizable to anyone who watches a certain show on CBS. I cannot say much more about that.

I faced a whole lot of rejection this year, but I keep hammering away.

Same job, new place. Next year? Better job, new place.

Still at the same job...and I'm stuck here until maybe next June when my lease expires. I've had the desire to leave my job for a good half of the last year. In addition, I've lost the desire to learn anything new in the world of programming...and I find myself disinterested in brushing up on things I learned a little about over a year ago. What I find the most interesting, however, is that I'm the only remaining Web Programmer left from the major hirings and the creation of the "Web Team" in 2001. I see that as either A) feather in my hat or B) or the fact that I'm just not striving for more.

Reading some of these current posts...I've really missed out on a lot. I really need to stop by more often.

Well, computer graphics have come a long way since 1992's The Lawnmower Man. I remember when that film first came out...and I thought the special effects were a heck of lot better Terminator 2's. The finale of the film, where Jobe becomes a virtual god, was a glorified version of rotoscoping created by company who now specializes in video games. The filmmakers didn't have the money for major-league special effects...but I think they got what they paid for and a whole lot more. Disney has the money, no question about it, so I'm sure there is something in development specifically for this film. Especially because the first film was so groundbreaking.

And wasn't Tron a financial disaster for Disney the first time around?

The working environment is such a fickle one...and at times completely unfair...
