Oh my. I'm so sorry to hear about this, but I can't imagine anyone not thinking you're doing the right thing. Relationships only work when both people work at it, and the "relationships take sacrifice" line of thought only applies when both people are making reasonable sacrifices. Not only were you the only one making sacrifices, they weren't even reasonable sacrifices. Her family sounds quite dysfunctional, and it will be difficult to keep that from rubbing off on your son. You've done the hardest, most difficult thing already, though. I'm pulling for you. Hang in there.

Cinn, I'll see your Pat Buchanan rally and raise you one Pat Buchanan campaign commercial, which I worked on in the early 90s. It was a prtty severe one too -- accused the elder Bush of placating homosexuals. Needless to say it didn't get him anywhere, which is how I was able to rationalize helping to make the ad.

Interestingly, he has mellowed out a lot since then.

Answer: There is none. Both situations describe relative truths.

Oh I totally understand. For reasons unknown, I used to be on a realtor mailing list for mansions and estates, and I actually enjoyed looking through the catalogs of oversized, multimillion dollar homes that I could never ever afford.

But alas, they caught onto me, and I don't get those catalogs anymore.

A couple days ago I heard this on TV:

"Dateline Washington, D.C., 1988: President Ronald Reagan denies he is running for Governor of California"

Why is this odd, you ask? It came from a segment called "News of the Future" and was part of an episode of "Laugh In" -- which aired in 1968.
