Notes: I go to school. I have a son. I think that middle knowledge offers a satisfying reconciliation between God's foreknowledge of future contingent events and human freedom. And I always think that Cleveland will make the playoffs.

Pedro and Elise, is Knott's Berry Farm worth spending $32 to visit? I've lived ten minutes from it for three years, but I'm moving soon and am wondering if I should bother to spend the money to go there.I felt old a few weeks ago when I rebuked a total stranger. My wife and I went out to dinner and a movie, and since we had time to kill between the two, we stopped by Starbucks. On our way in, we heard some high school girl standing outside use the f-word (or some variant thereof) three times during the time it took to get from the curb to the door. So I stopped and said, "Watch your mouth. You're in public." It was totally unplanned, and while I felt good about myself for improving the level of civilization at the local strip mall, I also immediately thought, "Well, guess I'm officially old now." I didn't think I'd be doing old person stuff like that until I was at least 35... I'm already ten years ahead of schedule. So what will I be like when I really am an adult?I work in the bookstore at a Christian college, and I'm a committed Evanglical myself (though, for the record, I don't like that name; I prefer to think of myself as a C.S. Lewis-ish "mere" Christian). Frankly, I'm troubled a bit by the degree to which my coworkers seem to be enamored of President Bush. I do support him; after thinking about the matter for some time, I feel fairly confident that he is doing the right thing about Iraq, tragic though it may be. However, it bothers me that some Evangelicals seem to think he is incapable of doing wrong or even making a mistake. What is that all about, anyway?Cinnamongirl, what do you do? If it's any consolation, I feel a lot better about my job now.Is Do Androids Dream...? better than Valis? I tried to read the latter a few months ago (after hearing on and off for years about what a magnificent work it is) and was bored, bored, bored. (My apologies to the big Dick fans out there. And sorry for such an over-the-top pun, too.) I admit, I still haven't finished it... maybe the second half is where all the good stuff is. But in what I've read, it's just a rehashing of the Gnostic nonsense that creeps up every couple of centuries, with a heavy dose of drugs thrown in for good measure.Others have certified this customer as follows:
