I'm a computer programmer, kind of lost in the job market with a job I'd like to quit. I went to DePaul and know pedro through UFO and dogmanphil from hanging around GEORGE'S and redvinegar shows.
I've been holed up in my apartment for a year and some months occassionally getting out to do interesting things, like UFO and Critical Mass. It's about time I popped my head out and looked for my shadow.

i think at this point we're probably about halfway there. the mortgage application is in underwriting. about 2/3 of our stuff is packed. the seller is taking care of the contingencies. that pares the to-do list down to scheduling movers and cleaners, transferring utilities, closing on the house, and then actually moving. so far so good.
oh yeah, and then we'll have roof-, window-, floor-, plumbing-, electrical-, and yardwork to do. hooray for home ownership.
house hunting has borne fruit. we've made an offer for a house near belmont and kimball and it's been accepted!
tara and i found a house that we'll make an offer on this week. it needs work. we probably won't live in it for the first six months we own it.
