Hello. I haven't come here for a long time, but a friend sent me a newspaper article about the Roma in eastern and central europe and I thought of the szpo wrongs and was hoping that someone who knows me and knows them can call me or email me with their email address. Peace to you all!

I haven't been here for a while, but I ain't got your number and I was wondering how you and the wife were doing and how Hungarian prep was coming along. I also found out yesterday that I am going back to Hungary - just for the summer, not for a year. I'll be teaching Hungarian border guards. Anyhow - I hope you're well. (and everyone else. Sup) When do you arrive in Magyarorszag? I'll be there until August 10.

On tuesday I went to the teacher store to buy poster supplies for my kids. I raved and raved about the construction paper crayons (they are very nice). The woman in line before me and the clerk asked me what age I teach. "Oh, they're 17." Blank stares. Who says 17 year olds shouldn't color - especially when they have the option of using very cool crayons? I think I'm going to give them for christmas presents this year.
Peace to you all on this fine Thursday.

My kids surprised me with a cake today. I told them I would've cried, except that I'm not a punk.
Needless to say, we didn't end up covering the Japanese Internment today.
How did I get so lucky? I frickin' love my job.

reasons why today I feel incompetent:
-I have no cookies, or at least cannot find them
- I had to check (and re-do) my math three times while doing the monthly attendance summary for the students in my advisory
-I have a dictionary open on my lap to check the spelling of both "incompetent" and "attendance"
reasons why today I feel glad:
-I have completed the monthly summary
-my students gave me a giant birthday card "to the coolest teacher ever" (one of the really huge ones) with messages from most of the 75 of them; my favorite being:
"to: 1 bad ass chick
Quit tricking off"
um, dude, I don't think you can write that on your history teacher's birthday card right above the principal's birthday wish. I don't think sanyone has told me to quit "trickin off" since I was in high school spending time with a young man of ill-repute. Dang. But I laughed.
I love the little punks, I have to say, and I feel so blessed to actually love my job and be happy to come to work in the morning. Life is good.
