Note to anyone in automotive repair: Never joke about the worth of an old, high-mileage vehicle after your customer sinks a grand into it at your shop.
I like Joe's Valley climbing.
Will do Stan, anything more we can do?
Neo, What do you do again? You're in Iowa right? I do a lot of work with web people in the mid-west (Chicago-land). Can I help? Want to move out West? There's an <expletive> of nerd work out here in Utah.Today was long and interesting, at least for me. The biggest thing was I bought a new motorcycle. Basically my dream bike. All the good stuff. The guy I bought it from was OCD, he misses it already, it's in great shape and way too cheap. I almost feel bad, but not really.
Friends are moving along with life at rates that are scaring them, but it's good. I have a lot of work ahead of me both for work and helping people with projects. My girlfriend and another friend roofing various things. Another friend just with work and a few folks with making their lives better and hopefully more calm and pleasant places. I have a lot of work myself, but there's a 5lb bag of good coffee in the freezer. More work is a nod away. Basically life is good and I (at least) feel like I'm almost doing some good. I mean, I'm either punishing myself or spending the other morning with hundreds of 4th graders did something positive. It involved Earth day.
I would like to re-iterate that I'll be in Chicago-land in Mid-May. Except for Captain and Stan I don't know of anyone I know around those parts. It's a short visit, but Captain, if you'd like to talk vintage motorcycles and drink beer, myself, my girlfriend and probably my dad would be interested. But no worries, I plan to travel a bit this summer on before mentioned motorcycle. There are people in the UP and New England that need a visitin' something fierce.
Also, Pedro and Baggs, You've now been warned. There is a possibility I might show up with a tent and a 6-pack. I like dogs with my name and Jer, it's been way too long for me to have never met your wife and daughter.
Done:
www.amyinbrazil.com. Get motorcycle ready to ride. Get almost too much work. Taxes. Install new light fixtures in kitchen and dining room. Buy plane tickets to Chicago May 15th-19th. Watch fuzzy dogs a lot.Todo:
Finish electric bicycle project. Remodel bathroom. Laundry. Clean up fuzzy dog hair. Make fun of Dad once he's out of the hospital. Sell condo. Find a new place. Go climb outside. Make coffee and drink it.Suggestions:
Go see Jose Gonzalez if he plays near you.
Watch the movie Juno.

blvdgirl:
"I arrived in Rio safely this morning. I was met at the airport by Rachel, the lead teacher at the school. I've since dropped my suitcases off at my apartment and had a tour of the school. It looks like it is going to take a day or two to find/procure all of the essentials needed for me to use the internet at home, but I will check back in as soon as I can.
Please tell everyone you know (who would care) that I am well and safe.
...it is incredibly humid here..."
I have nothing as interesting to report. Doing work and enjoying about a foot of snow tonight is all that's going on. The backcountry could use some new snow. I skied mashed potatoes today. It was still pleasant to skin and ski in 40 degree temps and lots of sun.
Oh, I'll be in Chicago for a wessing in May if anyone wants to grab a beer. I think this spring and summer might involve traveling. Weeee....
I'm pretty sure I got a txt message from blvdgirl saying she's flying to Brazil this Tuesday. If it wasn't from her it's the strangest txt I've gotten in a long while.I'm doing minor remodeling to my condo in an effort to sell it this summer. I think buying a small cabin in the woods would be pleasant. If nothing else I'm going for another condo with a garage. I have motorcycle desires that cannot be achieved without a garage. I've also been watching dog lately. They're nice to have around. Another reason to get a new place, my current one doesn't allow pets.
Chickens.
