I went to the GREAT CHIC '91 -- in Indiana. Yes, that Indiana.

I think freakinfreak is going.

I'm kinda an ex-Covy with heavy recidivism in my blood. I went to CHIC '94 in Colorado. That's super cool that your mom is in charge of the skate park, G. Your parents seem like some super rad parents. If you get me and n0ah and oldpossumus, and BigJ, and a whole bunch of us together, we could tell you some crazy stories about CHIC94. fun stuff, though. it's definitely a great event for High School kids.

...in 97. it was cool, but i had way more fun when i was on staff in 2000. so i am totally looking foreward to doing it again.

my dad has been on staff at every CHIC since i 1980 (which happened a month after i was born). and this year my youngest brother will be a camper and the other 5 members of my family will be on staff. all of us at the skate park. charli's even making the drive down with me, and staying in a kennel.

actually I didn't go to CHIC in CO because I went on a month long road trip with my sister, I could have gone but decided not to, I think I made the right choice. I did go to Journey in 97, and that was a great time. Pearson and I went and had much fun, that's where I first met the Duff brothers, good times. Well not where I first met the younger Duff, but we went to high school together. I think Journey was a great idea, and would have worked, but they then tried to do another one only 2 years later, and that's just not enough lee time for people to be ready to go again. But a good time was had by all.

Indiana in '91, jazz band in '94, '97, 00. but not this year. back when kaje wasemployed at cov ed she was offered the CHIC coordinator position if she wanted it. what a job that's got to be. this year i was supossed to work with s.luce on a communications committee, but oh well. it would have been hard to get the time off to go anyway. my sister just got hired to be an associate pastor at a church in minneapolis (i'm a bad brother and already forgot the name) and the first thing she does is show up to the church and go with the kids to CHIC. have fun

yeah, I'm going, posted 21 Jul 2003 by GNatural » (Fixture)

Yes, I, rather reluctantly, have come to the conclusion that, while I don't have a strong Covey background of sorts, I am currently as Covey as they come. I am:

+ a worship leader at a Covenant Church + son of a Covenant pastor + a former North Parker + a sibling of a former NP student (though she was only at NPC for 1 yr) + in the current CHIC band

Yikes. It's a good thing Holly's not Covey or else all that'd be left would be dropping about 80 pounds, going blonde, and adding -lund or -gren to the end of my name.

[Did I mention I'm also not only in the brochure, but did screen readings for the CHIC promo video? Man, Steve Luce is gonna owe me some favors...]

I think this special should also be known as "CHIC-fil-A."

...without the full-on corporate reference.

GNatural: we should try and hang out some time. stop by the skate park if you get a chance.

I leave the hard part up to you.

I just love the name of this entree.

I was in Colorado for CHIC '97, but I wasn't at CHIC. I was just home for the summer. I missed out on all of the Covenant experiences growing up because my family is Catholic. I feel deprived.

no really, posted 22 Jul 2003 by BigJ » (Fixture)

don't feel deprived, I'm now Lutheran and don't miss it at all. I think I like Greengren better, but defenitely like Johan E. very nice pedro.

went to chic in 94. met r8chel nycwist there and well some of you know how that went. anyways, chic was fun but, i got nothing spirtualy from it. almost all the speakers that spoke had spoke the chic before and had put the best parts of the talks in the chic 91 video. so, when i went to colorado and heard the speakers use the same talks it was bit dissapointing. but, i did have fun. oh and i discovered ok soda there which was the biggest highlights.

maybe i have heard the story of you and R.N. but reading it here i cannot honestly recall hearing them. and i knew her since 8th grade, when we went to P3t3rson Element@ry together. care to share? if not, that's cool.

i'm gonna miss it, posted 22 Jul 2003 by lieutenant » (Fixture)

I, like pedro was at CHIC '91, and went to '97, and '00 in Knoxville as a proud member of the Bike Squad, the crack and elite special operations force known as the CHIC Security Team.

I will not miss it . . .I pulled a hamstring the first day in Knoxville due to those damned one-way hill streets leading to the arena, had to bike through it, and spent the 12 hour trip back to PA (knowing that I was due for a fitness test with my recruiter two weeks after returning to Chi-town) asleep on the bus floor with about 5 pounds of ice on my leg and my knee.

Then three weeks after CHIC, I enlisted, and we all know how that's turned out.
