I thought it would be neat to have an entreé where we could talk about the things we're studying right now, either within academia or extra-curricularly.

I'm taking ENT 201 this semester and started reading the book last night. I'll come right out and admit that I'm taking because I think it will help with fly fishing next spring, but also cause it's a one credit, six week course. Regardless of that, I'm really excited for this course. In my reading last night, just in the preface of the book they were talking about taxonomy and I'm already starting to get quite interested...too bad the benadryl kicked in.

I'm taking a graduate level "computer security" class, so that should be interesting. Then I'm also taking the "intro to networking" class which should be pretty easy, and then I'm taking Intro to Automata, which will probably be the most challenging for me. I'm excited about it though.

I'm taking a theories in ethics course this semester. It's pretty cool because the fellow teaching it is a guy named Charles Taylor, who's a very well known ethics writer and who I read for the first time years ago at North Park. Who would've thought that I'd come to law school and end up taking a class from a major philospher? And it fulfills a requirement!

Property, Legal Research and Writing 2, Con Law 1, Torts 2. And International Law, which almost everyone interesting I've met so far at school is taking, where we are going to start by looking at international law + Iraq!

I hope teachers/TAs will also post what they are teaching.

what i find particularly interesting about this entree is seeing what individuals find fun or at the very least are passionate enough about to pursue a degree.

me? well, having not completed my bachelor degree due to the busy-ness and business of giving birth, etc. i'm finishing things up now. i am far enough into it and have been persistent enough about getting all of the icky requirements out of the way that i have mostly just the fun art major requirements stuff left. so this semester i have one silly requirement (np dialogue...<insert eye roll>) and 2d design and 3d design. I can't wait for classes to start next week! i'm a dork that way.

my new schedule and classes are awesome..., posted 9 Jan 2007 by pedro » (Staff)

I'm really excited about my classes this quarter and I'm finally starting to feel like part of a community. So, stan, you're not the only dork.

even better than last quarter... although that's not saying much. last quarter was great in the sense that i had a totally awesome class, but it was insane in terms of workload, stress, and mental health. this quarter is shaping up to be much better.

I will hopefully have rebuilt my trombone by thursday, so that i can take friday off and go home, then all i have to do is fix a french horn, wait two more weeks and i'll be a viable candidate for employment.... :D
